Balquhain Advisory Team Expands
John Duguid, Managing Director of Balquhain Limited is very pleased to announce that Jason Fielden and Rod Howland have joined Balquhain's Advisory
professionals.
Jason Fielden has been providing premium transaction advisory and support services in the mid-markets since 2006. From 2001-2006, he was with Scotia Capital,
the corporate and investment banking arm of Scotiabank. Jason worked on many high profile transactions during his tenure. From 1997 to 2001, he worked as a
mechanical engineer and project manager in the petrochemical, high energy physics and telecommunications industries.Jason’s expertise includes transaction strategy,
pre-deal analysis, risk analysis, controlled auction process, marketing documents, negotiation, structuring, valuation/pricing, and full transaction support services
including his unique Adaptive Due Diligence Program. Jason has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan (distinction) and an MBA from
Queen's University (finance) where he won the Queen's Gold Medal.
Rod Howland is a Senior Business Advisor specializing in debt and equity financing for growing companies. He helps his clients’ gain a competitive advantage by
arranging financing that is tailored to the particular needs of the company. Rod draws on his extensive experience in banking, investment banking, venture capital
and consulting to help clients overcome the challenges they face when trying to arrange financing for their businesses. He has particular expertise in helping
companies develop appropriate financing strategies and preparing business plans. In the course of his career Rod has served as Vice President Corporate Banking for
a major chartered bank and held similar positions with a term lender, an investment dealer and a venture capital firm. Rod has financed the debt and equity requirements of both large and small companies in a wide range of industries
including manufacturing, distribution, real estate and technology intensive businesses. He has also served as a member of the investment committee of a Toronto based
mezzanine fund and as a director of both public and private companies. Rod earned his degree in business administration from George Washington University, and is a member of the Association For Corporate Growth and the Canadian Association
of Management Consultants.
